Mr. An is winner of the prestigious Long-Thibaud-Crespin International Piano Competition 2012 in Paris. (Concert with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France) .

After the Grand Prix and the two more great prizes ' Prix SAS le Prince Albert II de Monaco' for the best Récital and' Prix SACEM' for the best interpretation of modern music, Mr. An began a prestigious concert series around the world with the great success of audience and critics. His interpretation of Schumann Piano Concerto with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France was particularly appreciated at the final stage of Long Thibaud Crespin Competition Paris, Opéra Comique Paris, 2012.

His numerous concerts attest to his exceptional musical maturity. Mr. An can look back on a long way of competition successes. He won many prestigious international competitions and he is a regular guest at leading international festivals in Salzburg Summer Festival in Salzburg, Austria, G. Enescu Music Festival in Bucharest, Romania, Musical Olympus Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia, Les Pianos Folies du Touquet in Le Touquet, France, Festival Musique au Coeur du Médoc in Bordeaux, France, Meissen Pianoforte Festival in Dresden, Germany.

 

He appeared with great international success in many solo recitals on the world leading concert stages such as; at Salle Gaveau Paris, France, Opéra Comique Paris, France, Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna, Austria, Seoul Arts Center in Seoul, South Korea, the Grand Hall 'D. Shostakovich' of St. Petersburg Philharmonie, Russia, Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, Italy, Grosser Saal Mozarteum Salzburg, Austria, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Germany, Palais des Congrès Touquet-Paris-Plage, France, among others.

 

Defined as a rising star in the contemporary generation, he is performing with highly prestigious orchestras in the world, such as with Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Kielce Symphony Orchestra, among others.

 

Highlights of his 2015-16 season include appearance with Hamburger Symphoniker in Hamburg, Germany, Inchoen Philharmonic Orchestra, Inchoen, South Korea, debut recitals in Pro Musica Concert Series in Hannover, Germany, Kumho Rising Star Concert Series in Seoul, South Korea and also he is planning to give lecture recitals for W. Mozart etc.

Mr. An was born in South Korea in 1986. He began learning piano since he was six years old. Since the early age, Mr. An was influenced by classical music, which inspired and motivated him to be admitted at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg in Austria at the age of 17. Mr. An studied under Prof. Christoph Lieske and Prof. Pavel Gililov and received a bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and postgraduate degrees with the highest honor. After that, he moved to Hamburg, where he received 'Konzertexamen' degree with highest honor in 2015.

 

In 2015, he recorded as soloist with London Symphony Orchestra, which was released by Sony Music and his debut recital in Hannover in March 2016 will be recorded and released by NDR Germany.

 

Currently, he is a faculty member of the piano department of University of Music and Theater Hamburg, Germany.
