Hyejin LEE 이혜진

Hyejin Lee, born in Seoul, Korea, began classical singing at the age of 12 and graduated from Yewon School. She then graduated from the Seoul Arts High School of Music as the best in her class. (She studied under Nasook Han). As a high school student, she has won many national competitions:
- the Ewha & Kyunghyang News Concours
- the Youngok Shin Voice Concours
- the Sejong & Mail Business News Music Concours Grand Prix
- and the Korean Voice Competition

After joining Seoul National University, every year she received a scholarship for her remarkable efforts until her graduation. (she studied under Prof. Mihye Park and Yoncho Cho). She also was invited by The Kukmin Daily.

Her talent then has been recognized again in South Korea, and she received the 1st prize at a Korean Singing Competition, as well as at the Chosun International Concours and a Vocal Music Competition in Daegu, and the 2nd prize at the Dong-A music competition.

She was able to prove her abilities to take even a big stage twice at the Seoul Arts Center concert hall. While working on her fourth bachelors’ degree she took the main role in E. Penhorwoods opera “Too Many Sopranos” where she showed she was able to perform not only in a classic setting, but also a modern one.

In 2015 she was able to take the role of the Queen of the Night in W.A. Mozarts “The Magic Flute”, which she played two days in a row, showing her professionalism despite the tiring schedule.

Two years later, in 2017, she won the 1st prize, as well as the audience award, at the International Music Competition Cologne, which awarded her with an engagement at the Floraball Cologne which is taking place in summer of 2018. She has also been finalist at the Competition dell’Opera in 2017.

Currently she is studying singing under Prof. Klesie Kelly-Moog at the Hochschule für Musik Frankfurt.
