Julius Jeongwon KIM 김정원


Pianist Julius Jeongwon Kim has appeared as soloist with world-renowned orchestras, including London Symphony Orchestra, Wiener Symphoniker, Czech Philharmonic, NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, in major concert venues worldwide. He has been invited to perform for the former Czech president Vaclav Klaus, former US president George W. Bush, and late former Polish president Lech Aleksander Kaczynski. In recent years, Julius premiered Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in Asia, a piece he subsequently recorded with Deutsche Grammophon.

Julius is a graduate of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and the Cycle de Perfectionnement program at the Conservatoire de Paris. He was a top prize winner at major competitions, such as the Maria Canals Competition, Bösendorfer Competition, Elena Rombro-Stepanow Piano Competition, and Dong-A Music Competition. Since serving as a professor at Kyung Hee University in Seoul from 2009 to 2016, Julius continues to perform as a Universal Music Artist, Artistic Director and Host of Naver V Salon Concert, as well as Artist in Residence at the Sejong Center and the Lotte Concert Hall.
